Then during the day on Friday dad, Chris, Ashley and myself all went shopping. We had a great time. Then we all went out to eat at a WONDERFUL place Friday night. Then Saturday was the wedding. Fun times with the hubby!

This past weekend was the 1st Texas Reds Steak and Grape Festival! So Jason and I headed to downtown Bryan around lunch time on Saturday and spent the day there. Then that night we heard Bonnie Bishop and the Bellamy Brothers. The weather was PERFECT (I actually got cold!!) and the company was wonderful. We had a blast!! (The pic was taken before we headed out!)

Then last night we grilled steak and tried a sauce we learned at the festival. Then to top it all off, Jason told me stay out of the bedroom until I was told to come in. Hmm...so finally I heard the call to come in. He had my favorite candle lit and had a relaxing music station on the TV. Then he escorted me to the bed and massaged my back and legs. It was AWESOME!!! Needless to say, I am so blessed to have Mr. Jason Davis Owen as my husband!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To buy or not to buy?

Well, Jason and I have been looking for a new house for a while. Yes, we only moved down here in October of 2005, but we have learned so much about the area! Now that I will be teaching in College Station, we are looking in that area. This is a house we are considering buying. It's not much bigger than the one we are in now, but it's half a mile from my new school...which means a NICE area! It's a LONG story on why it's for sale, but it's a steal of a deal, so we are now trying to sell our current home. Please pray for God's guidance in this area. Pray Jason and I will be open and be content in what God leads us to do.

Dad's Getting Married!

This is a pic of my dad and Margie...his soon to be wife!! Yes, my dad is getting married on June 23rd--2 weeks from today! This pic was taken in March when Jason and I were in Ruston over my spring break to meet her. They came in for a few days (from NC) and so we had to get to Ruston to meet this lady my dad is inlove with!! She was happily married when her husband was diagnosed with cancer and later died from it. They share a lot in common and what is so neat is that they can openly talk about their former spouse.

They met at First Baptist Church, Asheville, NC where my dad attends now that he has been pretty much been living at our cabin. Dad was going to a grief seminar and saw Margie there, but just thought she was a hostess or something because she had on a wedding ring. He learned more about her and eventually asked her for coffee. He told her he has never asked someone for coffee that had a wedding ring on! Then on another date, someone told my dad as they were checking out, "Would you like for me to hand this to your wife?" (or something of that nature) Dad said they just laughed. She eventually took off her wedding ring and is now wearing an engagement ring from my dad.

I am so excited my dad has found someone else to love. Mom always said that dad would probably find someone else and that we needed to accept her. Mom said she read somewhere that when you are happily married, you want to be married again. My dad deserves Margie. He took SUCH great care of my mom and has been lonely for almost 6 years. God is good and faithful. To God be the glory!!

My first blog!

Well, I finally did it! I created a blog! I can't even keep up with myspace, but I'll try this. Don't get upset if I don't post often. I'm a teacher and it's summer....NOTHING is going on! Also, Jason takes his laptop to work everyday, so I can't even get on the computer until he comes home. This is a pic of Jason and me from LAST summer at Yellowstone. I'm going to post this and see if I did it correctly!!! Enjoy!
