Baton Rouge

Jason and I headed to Baton Rouge for the women's NCAA games. A&M was playing Sat. night and Monday night. So since I had Friday off, I took Monday and Tuesday off, and we were outta here!! We spent Friday and Sat. nights at The Hilton. Then we stayed Sunday and Monday nights with my brother. We had a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We ate some GOOD seafood and toured LSU. Of course, Jason wanted to see the football stadim, so we walked into the stadium. I was like...oh neat. Jason was memorized! He loves his football!! Anyway, here are some pics from our weekend.

Sara Moore

First, I am no longer swollen. BUT...I feel like a snake. I am peeling ALL over my face, arms and neck. GROSS!! Some comments from my kids have been: Mrs. Owen, you have something on your face. Oh Mrs. Owen, I thought you had crumbs all over your face. Mrs. Owen, do you know you're sunburned?! Oh how I love the words of 4th graders. They are precious!!

I did use the vinegar idea, Kim. My dad's wife Margie told me the secret. Talk about smelling badly! Whew!! Hopefully in a few days the peeling will stop, and I will be back to normal.

Now on to Sara....I am trying to get her to start a blog. So please post a comment to her and let her know you want her to start one, too! If you don't know Sara, tell her you would like to meet her by reading her blog! :)

I love you Sara Less!!!!!!

Garage Sale and SUN!!

Jason and I had a garage sale on Friday and Saturday. I am WORN OUT, but it was worth it. We made a little over $1200.00, but I am SOOOOOO red. Just call me Mrs. Lobster. I tried to take a pic of my arm, but you can't tell. My face has NEVER been this red. I hurt SO badly. I can't believe my Spring Break is about to end! Oh well....at least it's just a 4 day work week!!! Then we get off for Easter.

Ruston!!!

I took off for Ruston Friday after school and returned Tuesday night. I was nervous about driving because of the snow, but it was not bad at all. This is Owen, Davis Glen and me at the TECH baseball game on Sunday afternoon.

This is "Grandmother Margie" with Andrew. We (Ashley, Margie and me) went shopping one afternoon. That was NOT Andrew's definition of fun!! Grandmother Margie took Andrew to see the lobster while Ashley ran to the craft section. I snuck up to find this and hear GM and A talking about the lobster. It was sweet!

Wouldn't be a trip to Ashley's house without playing the Wii. My dad even got into it. My dad and Selwyn are trying out the golf game.

I returned home safely. Now I am getting ready for a garage sale. WOO HOO! hehehehe! I'm loving this week called Spring Break!

Pebble Creek Carnival

My school has a HUGE carnival every year. Last year they raised $75,000.00 That means a Smart board for me!!!!!!!!!!!! Some of our classrooms already have them, so I am hoping after this year's carnival, I will have one. I can't wait!

The Kindergarten and 4th grade classes make a plate for the silent auction. A wonderful parent makes them and then we auction them off the day of the carnival. My parent did a Monopoly theme with Owenopoly. The theme for the whole carnival is Games and Fun. This mom was so creative. She used my students last name for the names of the property and names of our classroom things for everything else. Like a prize box, a Louisiana square (where I am from!), a cotton candy tax (my favorite candy!), an Aggie box (WHOOP!), etc. She thought of everything.

The plates start at $50.00. They usually go for around $200-$300. Some have gone for $800.00. WOW! I hope I don't drop the plate as I am holding it for the auction!

Other than the carnival, the other major thing going on is TAKS. We have the writing test on Wednesday. I am ready, the kids are ready...we are going to BLOW the test away. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my job. I am going to be SOOOOOO sad at the end of May. But until then....I can my sunshines everyday!! Gotta go get ready for the carnival!
